THE DATE IS SET for Burning Crawfish 2018!!!!!! Saturday June 2nd at CLENTONVILLE in Lafayette, LA!
More updates coming soon.
In the meantime here is a little something from our buddies in Merle Swaggard....
We are dusting ourselves off for another go 'round, folks!
After a brief hiatus, some logistical snag ups, and a much needed reality check.....this crustacean is ready to bring the noise back to the swamps of Acadiana!
There are lots of fresh ideas already about the future of the festival and we really believe this may be the best one ever!
It's been awhile folks but Burning Crawfish Fest is back!!!!!
The generous people who make great beer over at Bayou Teche Brewing have offered to host our 2016 edition of Burning Crawfish right there at their brewery!!!!! How awesome!
We are currently working on booking some bands for your enjoyment..... There will be a variety of musical styles from Zydeco to rock, maybe even a little dubstep!
Keep in touch with us for updates.
You can catch up with what we are doing by adding our facebook page: Burning Crawfish on Facebook
Thanks for checking in.
Can't wait to see all your smiling faces again. May 21st 2016!!!!!!
I am excited to announce the addition of what I sometimes think of as a one-man-big-band: Blind Texas Marlin.
Front man, singer, guitarist, and harmonicist John Curry's songwriting sets the stage for a great rotating spectrum of musicians from the New Orleans area. All in the style of gritty-folk rock, acoustic guitar combines with upright bass, trombone, and a tambourine and spoon rhythm section.
Whether he's performing solo or with the full ten or twelve musicians that make up the band, Blind Texas Marlin brings the heart and soul to any performance he gives.
Only *one more month* til the festival kicks off!!!
yay!!!
While I finalize all the bands and put together the flyer, you guys can entertain yourselves with a little music by my friends in Dummy Dumpster.
Dummy Dumpster has been making creative music in the New Orleans area for years....I know this, because they were one of the first bands I ever saw at the Dixie Tavern when I moved to New Orleans in 2003. At the time, it was only one guy (the bandleader, Mike Schadwell) playing an instrument that if I remember correctly was basically a bunch of noisy kids' toys all duct-taped together. Memorable, to say the least.
And I think that's what I really admire about these guys....the show is always a spectacle. Costumes, props, wrestling matches....you just never know. Plus....who doesn't love some good healthy high energy rock?!
